The Gentle and Humble God

Passage: Matthew 11:28-30

After a summer of learning a lot about the attributes of God, one might wonder how all the parts fit together. Along the way, we have connected dots between attributes to help us see that indeed, God is one. This Sunday, we end our series less by focusing on how the attributes connect, and more on how Jesus' description of His own heart helps us make sense of all the attributes. For when Jesus describes Himself as "gentle and lowly," that is not what we would expect from the God who is holy, sovereign, infinite, eternal, and just. Still, we must take seriously the one time Jesus explains His heart, the center of His character, to see how everything else we have understood this summer flows from His gentle and humble nature. Join us this Sunday and expect a lot of feasting!
