Abram Believed the LORD
Genesis: Ordering Chaos
Scripture/Text: ; Abram believed the LORD, and he credited it to him as righteousness. This statement, from Genesis 15:6, is one of the key verses in all of the Bible. It's often called the Gospel of the Old Testament. It's a cornerstone of the Christian teaching that God's acceptance of us comes by His grace and through our faith. But is believing enough? "Even the demons believe—and shudder". If believing is enough, why can't we find rest from fear, despair and hopelessness? Do we believe - but doubt God's ability? It is only when we unite our faith in God together with the power of God, that we find rest in the promises of God.
